The alarm buzzed at 9:30, Drew turned over and hit the power button. He sat there for a moment and blinked away the sleep. He threw the covers off and slipped on his jeans. He pulled his shirt over his head and put his feet into his converse. He needed a pick me up. He turned on his cell and slid it into his pocket as he walked out the door, walking towards Starbucks.
He walked in and smiled at the smells, he ordered a vanilla latte. His favorite. He paid the guy and walked over to the booth near the window. He glanced out as he sipped his coffee, he wondered who he would see today.

Lainey Daniels was worried about Matthew, he had been in the hospital for the past days and she had had to carry on the opening acts without him. True that they sucked now, but he had made her promise that no matter how long he was that she would put on a good performance, even if she didn't play guitar. So, with a small moan she awake from her fitful slumber and threw on skinny fit black jeans, a white tank top and her Rawrness hoody. She couldn't be bothered with make up this morning and left her tour bus without her famous eyeliner, although it would have hidden the bags under her eyes effectively. Screw it. She thought, grabbing her purse, cell phone and keys from the table top as she exited the tour bus and started to walk slowly down the road.
Pretty soon she had reached Starbucks and was relieved to see that it wasn't as packed as it had been a few days ago when she tried to go in there. Supporting her injured hand, Lainey elbowed the door with her good hand and made her way inside. Looking around she saw a familiar face and tried to place it, but decided to give up until she had grabbed her morning coffee, and jeez did she need her morning fix of blessed caffiene right about now. Limping upto the counter Lainey ordered a coffee with no milk, paid for it and wandered over to where Drew Hanes was sitting. "Excuse me, do you mind if I sit there?" She asked, gesturing to the seat opposite him with her coffee cup.

Drew was startled away from his small daydreams. He looked away from the window and saw a girl standing by the table. He heard her ask him about sitting there. He had seen her around before but had never met her personally. He smiled a bit. "I don't mind a bit." he said with a grin. He usually wasn't a morning person but today he felt a bit different.
"I'm Drew and you are?" he asked with a comforting but questioning tone as he put out his hand to her. He sipped his coffee again and smiled as the warm liquid rushed down his throat.

Of course she hadn't meant to startle him, but so far this week Lainey had managed to startle several people and she was beginning to get annoyed with herself for this. With a smile as the guy she stood before allowed her to take the seat opposite him, Lainey placed her coffee cup on the table before using the table to sit down without bending her knee too much. He had a nice smile and he seemed friendly enough to Lainey, she too hadn't met him personally, but she had seen him around the stages and pits before.
Once she was seated, Lainey placed her injured hand in her lap and picked up her coffee cup to take a sip of the scalding hot liquid. "I'm Drew and you are?" she heard him say, and waited for the liquid to slide down her throat before even attempting an answer. "I'm Lainey." she replied after five seconds with a small smile, placing the coffee cup back down on the table in front of her. "Nice to meet you."

Drew smiled, he could finally put a name to the face. That made him a bit happy, now that he had actually met her. "You too." he said with a smile. He noticed her baby her knee as she sat down and he noticed her place her hand in her lap. "How'd you get hurt?" he asked with genuine concern and interest. It was the best topic starter he could think of. It was a bit early for him to be up right now.
He sipped his coffee again, it tasted so good running down his throat. He wondered how something like that could be so addictive. He smiled at the thought.

Taking up her coffee cup once again Lainey took another sip of the blessed caffiene, so she wasn't a morning person, especially not while Matthew wasn't there to wake up with her now. She tried not to think about that while took another sip of her coffee, but then Drew noticed that she had hurt herself and he questioned it. He was the first and he sure as hell wouldn't be the last, Lainey definately knew that there would be a lot of enqueries about what had happened. She swallowed the coffee harshly and opened her mouth to speak.
"It's a long story..." she began, picking up a napkin from the dispenser and started to play with it. "Some idiot with a gun took shoots at random people in the streets while I went to get a tattoo with my boyfriend..." Lainey paused again, and thought of Matthew, wondering how he was doing. "...a free flying bullet scrazed my hand, and then Matthew decides to play hero and tackles the guy but ends up getting stabbed... and my knee... well, I leant on the knife without realising it." Lainey stopped talking and felt tears well up in her eyes. For a seventeen year old she could be pretty emotional.

Drew listened, he felt a bit bad for asking and he also felt a bit bad for her. "I'm sorry...Is your boyfriend okay?" He got up from his side of the table and sat next to her, trying to comfort her. He tried to console anyone who cried, even if he barely knew them.
He sipped on his coffee and looked at her, he wished he wouldn't have asked but he couldn't take it back now.

Lainey choked back the tears for as long as she could without letting them fall, she didn't want to be seen crying, or breaking down in Starbucks in front of someone that she had only just met, that would have been a little foolish. Or so she thought anyway, but sometimes, things like that just couldn't be helped and she had to try and keep her head up high and get on with it. Matthew would be out soon, she hoped, he was a fighter and she knew it. Countless times he had proved himself for her.
Trembling she found that Drew had sat down besides her and was trying to comfort her. She turned to face him, tears now falling down her face as she smiled lightly at him and tried to speak. But no words came out, Lainey was only able to nod. Then she found her voice, it was barely a whisper but it was hopefully audible enough for Drew to be able to hear her. "I hope so."

Tears were streaming down her face when she turned to him, he felt a bit horrible for bringing it up. He knew it must be a bit humiliating to be seen crying in public. He pulled her into a small hug, almost hiding her face with his jacket. He hadn't wanted this to happen but it did and now he had to deal with it, fix it somehow.
"He'll be alright, you have to keep believing that." he whispered. He looked around the place, there weren't many people inside and the ones who were weren't looking at them, or were trying to pretend they weren't. He felt really bad for her, he wished he could take the question back, but that was over now. Time to move on and try to console her.

Glad for the comfort of Drew Lainey allowed him to hug her and sort of hide her face with his jacket. She really hadn't wanted to cry today, heck she really hadn't wanted to cry at all and she knew that Drew's question had been an innocent one, of course it had, but then why had it also been enough to set her off in tears? She smiled lightly at him after breaking off the hug.
"Oh, gosh, I'm sorry... I must look like a fool." She moved away from him smoothly and dried her tears on the sleeve of her 'Rawrness' hoody, then looked up at Drew with a small smile on her face and moved her hand to pick up her coffee mug and take a sip. "Thank you Drew."
[ooc;; sorry took me so long to reply ><

Drew smiled a bit when she broke the hug, he got up and went back to his side of the table. "You don't look like a fool." he said with a smile. He took a sip of his coffee as she thanked him. "No problem Lainey." he said with another small smile.
He sipped on his coffee a bit more, the warm contents sliding down his tongue. He loved the taste of vanilla and coffee, it was great.
ooc: No worries here.

Taking another sip of her coffee Lainey looked back at Drew and found that he hand was beginning to itch a little under the bandage, but she wasn't allowed to take it off and that wa definately going to bother her for some time. With a smile she listened to Drew as he spoke and continued to sip her coffee, thoughts still wandering over to Matthew as they spoke. Oh, she did hope that he was okay and nothing had over complicated the situation.
"You don't look like a fool." Lainey heard him say as he moved back around the table and took up his own coffee cup once more. By now that coffee was a little warm, but as she continued to sip it she was grateful for the liquid cooling down her throat somewhat. Now that they had exhausted that conversation she didn't know what else to say, but one thing was bugging her and would keep buggin her until she asked him.
"Which band are you in Drew?"
[ooc;; again, sorry... heated arguements over msn and roleplaying aren't a good mixture]

Drew sipped on his drink and smiled when he heard her ask him about the band he was in. "I'm the guitarist for Your Fatal Mistake." he said with a smile. "What about yourself?"
He loved talking about music, it was definitely his favorite subject. It always gave him something to say.
ooc: don't worry about it, post when you can.

Lainey smiled, Your Fatal Mistake was a pretty good band, and if she remembered rightly then this was the Drew Hanes that someone had talked about to her once, the one that had been 'killer on guitar', she sipped at her coffee some more and listened to him. She too loved talking about music, she practically, ate, slept and lived music.
"I'm the lead vocals and guitar for Rawrness." She smiled a little and relaxed her itching hand, thus causing the itching to stop for a moment. "Your Fatal Mistake is a really cool band." Lainey said with a smile, setting down her now empty coffee cup and slouching down a little in her chair.

Drew smiled, "Rawrness is a pretty awesome band too." he said with a small smile. He hadn't heard them play that much but what he had heard had been pretty good.
She did seem like the type to sing in front of lots of people. "What inspired you to come into music?"
