Matt walked into the tattoo parlor, his black tee shirt tight around his torso. The red tie he wore had the ensigma 'Rawrness' on it, showing off his band. Smirking, he began to browse the different tattoos. He already had one on his right shoulder, a large black cross. His hand were stuffed into his pockets.
A man came up to him, and he smiled. "What can I get you sir? We have great tattoos here." Nodding his head, Matt took his hands out of his pockets and folded his arms.
"Im waiting for a friend right now. When she gets here, we're going to decided what to get." The man grinned and winked, then left to go out back and do something. Matt tapped his toes to the beat of the song that was in his head. One of Lainey's creations. Humming it, he looked around, his brown eyes piercing anyone who looked.
"Where could she be?" he wondered. Then his thoughts went to something bad. Was she with Zeke? His face fell and a scowl came over it. If he broke her heart, he would break Zeke and he would never walk again.

'She' was currently tieing the shoelaces of her converse in the middle of street about three stores down from the tattoo parlour that Matt had asked her to meet him at. Lainey had recieved the text around about half an hour ago and was already in the city when she heard her cell phone bleep and felt it vibrate in her pocket, which caused her to giggle out loud as people passing her by looked at her with curious expressions on their faces.
Of course she wasn't with Zeke, she hadn't since him since the day they had met backstage a few days earlier, but he was on her mind, he was always on her mind, although admittedly not as much as Matt was on Lainey's mind. Together they had grown up and their friendship had been extremely difficult to break up. They were like pebbles and sand, or peanut butter and jelly. Hm.. peanut butter and jelly. the thought of that made her head spin and she realised that she was hungry.
With a smile she reached the tattoo parlour, opened the door and walked in. Matt's back was too her so she crept up quietly behind him, stepped to the side and gave him a quick peck on the cheek hoping that she hadn't scared him, but also knowing that she probably had. With a smile she looked at the guy and nodded. "Hey Matty." she said taking a step around him so that she was now in front of him. A smile on her face. "Picked one yet?"

Matt almost messed himself when Lainey surprised him with a peck on the cheek. His insides churned at her kiss and he grinned. Turning, he hugged her and then took a step back, still looking around. She was wearing her converse, the ones that he loved the most on her.
"No, not yet. I was thinking a name, but I'm not sure how that person would feel. And I dont know where to get it." Smirking, he saw the owner come back out of the back of the shop again, and approach them. He gave Lainey a look, his eyebrows raising. But then he saw the look on Matt's face and he cleared his throat.
"Decide on anything yet?" he asked, and Matt shook his head no. Of course he had something! He had what he wanted all day long. He wanted to get Lainey's name on his arm, inside something, like the guitar that she used. Smileing at that thought, he turned back to her.
"I wish that I could ask said person if it was alright to have thier name on my body for my whole life. And no Lainey, not my mother." Laughing at his own little joke, he stretched, tee shirt catching on his muscles.

As he hugged her Lainey smiled and hugged him back albeit with a little less strength as he was alot bigger than herself, once they had let go of each other she turned around and stood next to him as she followed his eyes around the store, taking in the many tattoo's she wondered if prehaps she should get one but thought better of it as she didn't know how much pain would be caused if she did. But she wasn't a whimp and if she wanted a tattoo then she would get one.
Whilst thinking about that Matt spoke and Lainey felt her breath hitch in her throat as she turned to look at him, a perfectly shaped eyebrow quirked upwards as she heard more of his words and then, when he was done she couldn't think of anyting to say. "I'm sure you could get it here and whose the person?" when Matt thought about getting something he usually always did get it.
Ignoring the owner of the store as he looked her up and down Lainey continued to look around the store and was suddenly mesmerized by a particular captivating tattoo design, it was of a guitar and a rose had been thread through the strings of it. She was just about to go over there and look at it when Matt, again, broke her concentration and caused her too look up at him once again. She smiled as he talked and when it came to the part about it not being his mother she couldn't help but stifle a giggle.
"Maybe you should just come out in the open with the person, afterall you never know what she..." she thought about playing around with him now "... or he will say unless you ask them, and it'll do no good to dwell on it any longer than necessary." Wow, for a seventeen year old she sure was pretty good with advice and very adult like in her thinking ways. She smiled as she watched him strech. "Go ahead and ask her... or him.."

Matt laughed when she threw in the 'he' in the sentences about being honest with the person. No, he couldn't do that, it would ruin the friendship! Instead, he followed her gaze to the guitar with the rose threaded through the strings. Smileing, he led her over to it.
"You want it? Then get it." He pointed to a different one, one with a large black guitar that had a name printed out on the strings. He would get that one, and he would surprise her with her name in it. And if she asked, he would just say its cause they're such good friends.
He walked back to the man and told him he was ready. "Lain, I'll be out in a few minutes, I'm going to get my tattoo." Smirking, he ran back, grabbed the picture of the guitar he wanted, and then softly kissed her cheek. "Be right back. Promise."

Lainey loved to tease Matt, out of all the other band members she had found that he was the easiest to tease and with her being the youngest out of all of them she could get away with murder, well not quite literally murder, but you get the meaning of it. She smiled as he led her over to the picture of the tattoo that she had been looking at before he spoke out to her.
"You want it? Then get it." he had asked her and then told her. Lainey wasn't so sure though, she continued to stare at it while Matt showed her the tattoo that he wanted, it was a nice tattoo and it made her smile. "I like that one, it's pretty." She said even though she hadn't looked at it. Matt then told her that he was just about to go and get his tattoo.
"Okay Matty." she said moving her gaze from the tattoo upto him just as he disappeared into the room at the back. For a while Lainey continued to stare at the tattoo and decided to just get something else instead, the other clerk came upto her and asked her what she wanted. "Just a simple one please." She smiled. "Like a heart with the letter M inside." He nodded and led her to a room.

Matt could feel her eyes on his back as he went out back to get his tattoo. Sitting in the chair, he watched the man. He pulled his shirt off and told him that he wanted it on his left arm. He pulled a wet nap out of his pocket, and began to clean Matt's arm. On the other side of the curtain, he thought he could hear Lainey.
Soon the needles poked into his skin, causing the ink to be pushed inside. A few droplets of blood appeared, and the skin around the needles got red and puffy. Grinning, he knew that this would be good. The guitar came first, all black and a white plate on it. The strings were shaped into Lainey's name in a red ink, and the guitar was then highlighted with a silver color, to emphasis the red.
Once the tattoo was done, the man put a piece of gauze on it to keep the few drops of blood stopped. Stepping out of his small compartment, he knocked on the door next to him. "Lainey, are you in there?"

As the guy led her into the room so that he could give her the tattoo that she wanted, Lainey began to wonder if she was doing the right thing, two men were on her mind now and only one of them was the right one for her and she knew it. Sure Zeke was good and pretty fucking funny when drunk, but Matt was the more sensitive of the two and had loved her since the beginning, with a smile to the clerk she sat herself down on the seat and continued to think about Matt and Zeke, but Matt kept over riding her senses and she finally figured that she loved him.
The tattoo needle was pretty painless since it was only a small one. In a matter of seconds the clerk had tattooed a red heart on the side of her wrist and lifted her hand so that she could have a look. "Looks great so far." she smiled at him and went back to work on it, putting in the M was going to be some work since he had a small place to work in. "Miss, do you mind if I intertwine the M with the heart? It'll give the tattoo a little more emphasise." Lainey looked at him and nodded. "Sounds like a good idea." she said and he set to work instantly.
Once the tattoo was finished the clerk placed a piece of gauze on her wrist and went to clean up, while Lainey stood up and was just about to open the door when Matt knocked on it and asked if she was in there. Lainey just opened the door and stepped out. "No." she said with a smirk, trying to see what his tattoo was about, but was unable too since he had gauze on it. "Good lord you didn't scream the place down." She teased, walking to the counter to pay.

Matt saw the door open seconds after he knocked on it. Lainey appeared, a smile playing on her lips. Of course he didn't scream the place down! Laughing, he followed her to the counter, but stopped her from paying. He got out a couple of twenties and paid, then gathered his change and pocketed it.
"You want to see mine? I have it covered so that you can't see it yet." Smirking, he lifted his arm up and peeled away the guaze. The tattoo was beautiful, mixing with his tan skin, it looked like a work of art. The guitar had 'Lainey' entertwined in its strings, and it fit perfectly. She always tugged on the strings of his heart. Smileing at that, he looked down at her, hair falling into his eyes.
"I love you." Before he could stop the words, they popped out. Feeling stupid, he stepped back. "You told me to tell the person how I felt. And now I am. Lainey, I love you, and I always have. Ever since I met you."

Lainey was just about to get out her money and pay for hers and Matt's tattoo when he stopped her and paid the cashier for their tattoos' instead. She wasn't going to complain, he always did things like that and she knew that if she were to argue with him about it then she wouldn't win, because Matt was adamant about things like that and there was no disuading him about it. So Lainey smiled, nodded, placed her hands behind her back. "Thank you Matt." She said after a few seconds while the cashier was exchanging looks between the two of them.
"You want to see mine?" Lainey heard Matt say as she shot a quizzical look at the chashier who hurried away to clean the instruments, as he turned around the corner Lainey looked back at Matt and smiled. "I sure do." She said, anticipating the viewal of his new tattoo. She watched him peel away the gauze that was covering it and felt her breath hitch in her throat as she saw the design and the name, her name. "Oh wow." Was all she could manage to say as she stared at it. It was beautiful and she never knew that Matthew had loved her.
Lainey looked up at his face, never before had she noticed the way his eyes twinkled in the light, the way his hair was always floppy and covering his eyes, the way his skin glistened in the soft lighting and the way his lips curved upwards whenever he smiled. It took her breath away as she gaped at him, unable to find the words that she needed to tell him. But then he spoke them before her and Lainey twitched a little, trying to find her voice, but then he stepped back and instinctively Lainey stepped forwards towards him. "I love you too." Her voice barely a whisper but audible for him, and only him.

Matthew grinned as she stepped forward and said that she loved him too. He could have jumped for joy just then, but instead he grabbed her and twirled her around, kissing her softly. Setting her down, he hugged her and kissed her head.
"I have dreamed of you saying that for years." He let her go and stepped away to examine the woman who loved him. Laughing histerically, he couldn't believe that she loved him too! Finally he stopped laughing and looked at an old lady feeding pigeons.
The fat man walked by again, and Matt instinctivly stepped to Lainey and held her tight. Fat man wasn't going to get her. As the fat man passed, Matt loosened up and let her go, glad he was gone. He was worse than a mosquito! Always showing up when he shouldn't!

Lainey giggled as Matty grabbed her and twirled her around. A little dizzy she finally stopped and he was hugging her, with a smile she leant her head on his shoulder and kissed his cheek lightly with another giggle. The clerk chose that particular moment to come back out into the room, he saw the happy moment between the pair of them and a wide smile spread across his lips. "Weddings! I love weddings." he said, almost the spitting image of Captain Jack Sparrow!
She listened to Matt speak but all she kept hearing was him say 'I love you.' the first time he had said it, of course she was just going to relay that over and over in her mind for the rest of her life. It was a beautiful moment between the two of them. Finally Matt let her go and she took an uneasy step backwards, she was a little faint from delight and giddy because she hadn't eaten since yesterday morning.
Now they were outside and the fresh air was delightful. With a smile she snuggled up close with him as they walked and watched the fat man as he walked past. It was the same fat man from the other day, the one that Matt had punched because he had tried it on with Lainey and now she knew why! Ugh! Blondie! She reprimanded herself. All these years Matt had been in love with her and she had been so blind to not notice it. She could have slapped herself again.

Matt felt Lainey snuggle with him as they left the shop. This was perfect. Him and her, finally together! Smiling, he wrapped an arm around her waist and together they walked. It was hot out today, blistering actually. A song suddenly popped into his head.
"Got someone special in my life..." He stopped singing there and just hummed the tune, wishing he had his guitar to play along. Of course, he had the guitar on his arm to sing with the song that was in his heart. Nothing could stop this feeling that he had now.
A shot rang out in the streets, and everyone paniced. Matt instinctivly pushed Lainey behind him and looked around, trying to find who it came from. A man in the middle of the park had just shot a hand gun in the air, and he was now shooting at random people. Matt turned to Lainey.
"Stay hidden!" Kissing her, he ran off around the side of the man, and came up behind him. Trying to wrestle the gun away, Matt kicked his shin and the gun fell to the ground, only to be replaced by a knife. He stabbed Matt's chest with it, and Matt punched him hard, knocking him on his ass and out cold. Staggering, Matt went back to Lainey, grinning. He had saved her! And everyone else too. Blood ran down his front and he pulled the knife from his shoulder chest area, sitting down on a bench.
"I love you Lainey. I love you so much."

Lainey giggled as he began to sing and felt like nothing else mattered in the world at the moment, she was enjoying a pure blissful day with the man of her life and she couldn't have asked for it to come around in a better way. She had particularly loved the way he had told her that he loved her and Lainey was thankful that he had admitted the truth about his love for her. She was contemplating about how to tell Zeke that she wasn't single anymore when the shot rang out.
For a moment she was unaware that the bullet had grazed her hand, the pain wasn't there until after Matt turned to her, kissed her and she turned to hide around the corner. Great! A perfect day ruined by some jackass. She thought, rounding the corner and noticing the blood dripping from her hand. "Shit." She murmered looking around for something that she could wrap it up in, then she remembered that she was on the street and there would be nothing, not until she got to a store.
Lainey struggled to maintain an upright position as she looked around wildly for Matt, then he was there and he was bleeding. "Matthew." She whispered as he ran upto her then pulled the knife from his chest and sat down on a bench. Right now she wanted to punch him and she also wanted to hug him, neither would have done him much good since he was hurt so she kneeled down in front of him, and ended up kneeling on the knife. Not good. With a moan she shifted her position and kicked the knife away. "I love you too Matt..." she started.
"JESUS CHRIST YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT!!!"

Matthew felt her kneel down next to him, and he moaned. Putting pressure on his wound, he turned to her, face pale with blood loss. Shaking, he reached a hand out to touch her arm.
"Im here. And Im not that stupid." Smirking, he tilted his head back, slouched in the bench. His body went limp, and he lost consciousness. So much for the perfect day. He was in and out of consciousness, his vision fading and coming back.
He was in the hospital, doctors running around him and pushing him somewhere. "Lainey, help her first...." A doctor replied no, but Matthew didn't hear the rest of it. He was out cold, and didn't wake up for a while.
