The last words that Lainey had spoken to Matt before he passed out on the bench were not very nice and she was kind of regretting it, panicking about him, a million questions flooded her mind as she watched him being taken to hospital. She needed to see if he was okay but wasn't allowed to go in the ambulance with him as another one had been called for the other guy. Lainey had to ride in that one because the paramedics had needed all the room they could get while they worked on Matt.
In the back of the ambulance one paramedic was tending to Lainey's knee while another was driving and the last, a newbie by the look of it, was tending to the guy that Matt had knocked out. It was all she could do to not get up from her seat and punch him in the head for stabbing Matt. "What exactly happened?" The paramedic asked, but Lainey had gone into a fit of tears and was sobbing uncontrollably. She was only 17 and so much drama already in her life! She tried to compose herself but was unable to.
At the hospital Lainey fought off the paramedics and ran to where Matt was lying, he was wired up and covered in blood, as was she, but Lainey didn't care, she was more worried about Matt. Sure the pain in her knee was making her limp and the pain in her was immense, but she imagined that Matt was probably in more pain than she was and she wanted to make sure that he was okay. Finally she was allowed in the room, she ran in, her jacket hanging off of her shoulder and her white shirt covered in blood.
"Matthew." she whisped, choking back tears. "Matty.." She stroked his hair with a trembling hand. "Wake up, please?"

Matthew could hear an angel's voice in his dreams, begging him to wake up. But he was awake! He was fine! He tried to tell them this, but he couldn't find his voice. All around him was darkness, and nobody would listen to him! A sharp pain began to throb in his chest.
"IT BURNS!" he yelled, his eyes flying wide open and he stared at Lainey's head. That made all the pain go away. Not able to lift either of his arms, he made do with moving his lips.
"Lainey? Dont cry sweet." His voice was scratchy and dry, and he wanted something to drink. He rasped when he talked, but other than that, he was fine. Smileing, he kissed her hair and grinned.

"Matthew, please wake up..." Lainey said again, this time her voice was barely a whisper as she let her tears run freely down her face. She couldn't loose him, not now, not ever. "Matthew... please." She was begging him now and her heart was aching because they had been together not ten minutes before everything went wrong. She continued to stroke his head as a nurse bustled around him. "Sweetie, are you his family?" she heard the nurse ask, but was unable to answer her, because her tears were so thick and she was shaking all over.
When Matthew shouted Lainey jumped back in fright and almost knocked the bedside cabinet over. He had scared her and now she was crying even more, it pained her to see him like this and she wished that it had never happened. "Matthew..." She whispered again, watchin him stare at her while she stared at him and took a tentative step towards him. "Matthew..." All Lainey could seem to do was say his name and nothing more. To some people that would seem rather disconcerting, but apparently it didn't phase the nurse nor Matthew, which was a good thing.
"Lainey? Don't cry sweet." Lainey heard him say. How could she not? Matt's voice was scratchy and unlike his normal voice, she continued to cry and was annoyed with the fact that she was still, technically, a child, the youngest in the band! She smiled as he kissed her hair and sat down in the soft chair next to his bed, finally allowing the nurse to clean up her hand and stich up her knee. Sure she was grimacing when the nurse did that, but it hurt her more to see Matthew in the state he was. Pretty soon Lainey was all sorted out and fixed up. She looked to Matthew and then at the nurse, who was now non-existant.
"Matthew, I thought I lost you." She sobbed, getting up from her chair awkwardly, for the bandage was a little tight and she must have looked like an idiot trying to walk, but she didn't care. Looking at his bad side she walked around the bed to his good side and climbed up there with him, she was tired and the bed looked comfortable, sort of. With a smile she turned on her side and cuddled up next to him, resting her head on his shoulder, but not before she kissed his cheek. "I don't want to lose you, ever."

Matthew looked into Lainey's eyes and he saw her tears falling freely. Frowning, he watched as the nurse poked his sack of well, fluids is what you might call them, and she then put some medicine in it. The sack of fluids led to the IV in his arm. The medicine began to leak into his body, making him drowsy.
With a yank, he ripped the IV out and then sat up to hold Lainey. "You'll never lose me dear. Never." Smiling into her hair, Matt felt the pain in his arm come back. Pushing the red button, he called for the nurse. When she came in, he taped the IV back on his arm to make it look like he was wearing it.
"Just sew me up and let me out please. We have a gig soon." Matt adjusted his blanket and put some room for Lainey. Patting the matrice, he motioned for her to lay with him.
