"Since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to get into music. It was like a passion. But my mom never let me fulfill it. So, I practiced with the band secretly during high school," she said. She loved just to talk about the band, and everything about it. She loved the band, and couldn't live if she wasn't apart of it. It made her happy that she was apart of something that was so great.

Drew smiled, "Mine has always been a passion, my older brother taught me everything i know from about the age of 10. He was 13 then, he kills on a guitar, it's a family talent i guess." he said a laugh. "Why didn't your mom let you fulfill your dream?"
He was glad that his parents were okay with his music decisions, his brother had been a great influence on him, and he was glad for that.

"She always wanted me to be the goody-two-shoes girl she was. But that just wasn't me. I wanted to go out there and take risks in life," she said. She took another bite out of her burger, and another sip of coke. She grabbed her iPod touch, and shoved it in her pocket, not even bothering to look at the time anymore.

"My parents let me follow my brother's path since thats what i wanted to do. They were happy for me but i think they wanted me to be like my dad. A lawyer or something great, not a muscian like my brother." he sipped his coke and bit into his burger once again.
He watched her shove her phone back into her pocket, then looked back at his food. He was having fun.

"Well, you're lucky you weren't an only child then. I was the pride of my family, and they were determined to get me to be something great. Though I don't understand why they don't like music. It was something great!" Violet said, biting her burger. This was fun, even though she just met him.

"I agree." he said with a smile. She was fun to talk to, he liked that. "Music is a great career, at least your not living on the street with no money. That's a parent's nightmare." he said with a laugh. "I'm sure they'll be proud when you make it big time." he smiled at her.
His phone began to vibrate, he slid it out of his pocket and looked at the screen. His brother's name flashed on the screen. He hit the ignore button and slid the phone back in his pocket. His brother would leave a message, that much he knew.

"You have a point there," she said, laughing. "If I lived on the streets, my mom would probably come and kill me," she said. She laughed at the thought of her living on the streets, and her mom finding her there.

"Yea my dad would probably hunt me down too." he said with a laugh. "Unless my brother got to me first." he said with a smile. His brother cared about him the most, they were really close. Like best friends.
He sipped on his coke and felt his phone vibrate once again, this time it was one short burst, telling him that there was a new voice mail. He ignored it, he would check it later.

"Yeah, my dad would never hunt me down. He'd probably just leave me there," she said, "He was never the caring type." This didn't bug her. So he didn't really care, well, she didn't care about him either. He could die in a hole for all she cared.

"My dad was always hard on me and my brother, he wanted us to be the best. I think we kind of let him down, though he didn't show it." he said with a sigh.
"Are you sure your dad didn't care? or Was it just hard for him to show it? Sometimes its hard for guys to share feelings. They think it makes then less of a man or something." He sipped his coke and wondered what she would say to his comment.

"He didn't care. I'm sure of that. If I would get hurt, he'd tell me to toughen up, and stop being a baby, when I was only 4," she said. She didn't go into detail about her father, for it would just bring back the pain, and the bruises. She never felt right towards her father. He disrespected her mother on a daily basis, and pretty much beat the shit out of his only daughter. It made her mad, and sad at the same time.

Drew could see that she was beginning to struggle with this conversation. He listened as she talked about her father. "What an ass." he said a few moments later. He sipped his coke. "We don't have to talk about this." he said, giving her the chance to change the subject.
He was glad his father wasn't like that, but he felt a bit bad that she had to go through that.

"Okay then, but you get to pick the subject," she said smiling. She sucked at starting conversations, and stayed anywhere away from starting one. She liked to talk about things that others thought of, instead of her own thoughts. She looked down at her converse again, kind of inspecting them. She saw that there was a hole in her shoe, and some of the stripe on the side was coming off.

Drew thought for a second, "I'm not the best conversation starter but I'll give it a shot." he said with a smile. He picked at his brain for a moment, trying to get his mind to think of something interesting.
"Who's your favorite band?" he thought that would be good, seeing as it was still on the topic of music.

"Mm," she thought. This was tough, though only one band came to mind. "The All-American Rejects," she said, "They have to be my all time favorite!" She smiled at him. "What about you?" she asked.
