Okay. Granted, summer seemed to be every single person's favourite season. The vacations off of school, and sometimes work, the trips to the beach, the cold ice cream bought from the ice cream man, a tall glass of cold lemonade on a hot, sunny day... But Scarlett hated it. Particularly at times like this. She sat on the steps of Heck No! Techno's tour bus, holding an electric fan to her face, even though it only barely blew any wind into her hot, sticky face.
The bright yellow sunglasses perched atop her nose were slowly sliding down, but she didn't notice. Even so, she was too damned hot to care. The temperatures were well in the 90's, if not higher. And even though she was dressed in a pair of shorts and a striped tank top, Scarlett still felt as though she were going to melt into a puddle onto the ground beneath her. She couldn't go into the bus either - the AC was broken. How much did that suck? Having your bus' AC break around one of the hottest days of the entire tour. It was irony at its' best. ''Ughhhhh.'' she groaned out loud, as she threw aside her pathetic little fan. It wasn't helping her at all.
She still had some time in her schedule before she was set to report to the Rage & Rampage stage for her & her band's afternoon set - the second of the day - and she needed something to drink, desperatley. Walking into the tour bus, the temperature did not differ much from the outside. Walking over to the mini-fridge located on the side, Scarlett opened it, welcoming the cold air that overwhelmed her, as she grabbed a bottle of defense vitamin water - her favourite - and went back outside. After all, what choice did she have? The temperature was the same everywhere.
She returned to her previous seat on the steps, and opened her drink, taking a large satisfying gulp, as she watched people walk by, she waited for someone familiar to do so, so that she would have someone to talk to.

Rayne sighed as she desperately tried to find one of the techs to fix her bass' string. It had popped during soundcheck."Oy! Chuck!", she called finally spotting the guitar tech. "My baby's hair broke.", Rayne said handing her bass over and a new string. "Could string that one for me? I have to go over the songs with the rest of the crew.", she said desperatly. "Its what I get paid for.", Chuck said smiling and taking the guitar out of her hands. Rayne left her most prized posession with her trusty friend and quickly began making her way back to the parking lot.
Rayne glanced at her phone, 2.34 it read mockingly. She sighed and broke into a sprint, her six-year-old beaten up red converse sending up clouds of dust behind her. Rayne grinned slightly and slowed to a walk as she neared the oh-so-familiar bus, and her partner in crime, Scarlett. Rayne gasped for air and quickly grabbed the bottle of vitamin water from Scarletts hands, taking a large gulp and feeling a wave of relief as the cool liquid slid down her throat, comforting her breathing and feeling of weakness. "Thanks babe.", Rayne said breathlessly, waving at her face as to provide some form of air, "Has a tech come by to fix the A/C?", she asked making her way around Scarlett, into the tour bus where she retrieved a clean shirt that wasn't soaked in sweat and a new pair of shorts. Rule 1 about summer touring? Always have skimpy clothing. It gets insanely hot.

Scarlett had literally been spacing out when Rayne had come out of nowhere, and basically snatched the bottle of vitamin water that had been resting in Scarlett's hand. ''Well, gee, thanks for asking,'' Scarlett smirked, as she took back the bottle, and screwed the top back on to prevent it from spilling, as Rayne walked into the tour bus behind her - to change presumably. Scarlett yelled behind her. ''Dude. Where's your bass? It's not like you to walk around without that thing by your side at all times. Unless you left it back at the stage, but it's not like you to do that either,'' she said, as she leaned against the side of the bus. The sun had heated up the siding so that it was burning hot to the touch. ''God dammit!'' Scarlett yelped, as she jumped back, rubbing her arm, which had gotten burned. ''Ughhh... I hate this weatherrr.'' she whined, fanning herself with her hand.
The sun was beginning to drive her insane, so Scarlett finally decided to head inside the bus. ''Ready or not, Ray - here I come!'' she yelled out, covering her eyes, as she walked up the short stairs to the inside of the bus.

Rayne grinned, "No problem, babe!", she called over her shoulder. "I popped a string during soundcheck!", Rayne called over her shoulder tugging off her digusting smelling t-shirt during which she had played their first set, "Chuck's re-stringing her for me before the next set!", Rayne continued pulling on a clean black graphic tank top. Rayne grinned and shook her head as she heard Scarlett shriek and curse,"Did you get burnt again?!", Rayne called out taking off her pants and quickly pulling on a pair of black shorts that reached to her knees.
Rayne smirked as she stood with her hands on her hips and watched amusedly as Scarlett stumbled her way onto the bus with her Vitamin Bottle in hand and her other hand over her eyes. "I'm decent, buddy.", Rayne said laughing slightly and pulling out a bottle of water and taking a large refreshing sip of it. She sighed slightly and groaned at the continual heat of the bus. She quickly heard a knock on the side of the bus, "Anybody here?", asked a male voice. "Yeah?", Rayne called back looking quizically at Scarlett then back at the man who entered. "I'm just gonna go fix the A/C.", he said with a smile and went right back outside, where he circled around to the back of the bus and where he began unscrewing and re-screwing bolts.
Rayne raised her eyebrows but gave him an approving nod. Rayne quickly realized that the water simply going down her throat wasn't enough. She went over to the sink and stuck her head under it, then continued pouring part of her bottle over her head. After her hair shoulder-length hair was nearly all soaked, Rayne stood back up straight and shook her head, much like a wet dog would, sending bits of water and perspiration everywhere. "DAMN that feels good!", Rayne proclaimed taking a sip of the leftover water from her little 'shower'.
"Are we gonna do the same song order as we did this morning?", Rayne asked pointing to a sheet of paper lying on a table littered with water bottles and magazines nearby.

Scarlett leaned against the edge of their small kitchenette counter, as she listened to Rayne recap what happened with her guitar. ''Sucks that you popped a string. Always happens to me with my e string,'' Scarlett said, fingering an air guitar, and strumming an invisible G chord. At that moment, there was a knock on the door, and a workman appeared.
''I'm just gonna go fix the A/C.''
'Thank god!' Scarlett thought to herself, as she turned back to Rayne, and continued speaking, ''Hey, better to get it fixed now than have it be a problem right before our se -- what are you doing?'' she broke off suddenly, as she watched Rayne submerge her entire head under the kitchenette's sink. Surprisingly, she managed to fit it under the almost non-existent space. Scarlett smirked at her best friend. Not surprised to see her do something like this, but it was still a funny thing to witness. Rayne lifted her head and looked back at her, and Scarlett giggled. Rayne's heavy eyeliner was running down in long black streams all over her face, as though she had just been sobbing her eyes out.
As she was giggling, a loud click reverberated throughout the bus, and suddenly, the A/C was running again. ''Hallellujah!'' Scarlett exclaimed, as the cold air began to cool the bus down almost instantly. She turned to look at Rayne, with her dripping wet head. ''You'd better go outside with that hair now, or you're gonna catch a cold or something,'' she laughed. Walking past Rayne in the tiny corridor, she reached the back of the bus, and pulled out a towel out of one of their small storage cubbies. ''Here,'' she said, tossing it to Rayne, as she threw herself down on the couch, and picked up the old copy of the songs they had done this morning.
''Why do them in the same order? Some of the kids will have come to see us play again - they won't wanna hear the same stuff.'' She remarked, skimming through the list of songs. ''I say we keep 'Four Letter Lover' and 'Running Out of Time', but let's do some new stuff this time too - or at least stuff we haven't played today,''

Rayne grinned as the cool air began flowing from the air vents in the bus. "Me? Catch a cold? In this?", Rayne said motioning to outside where the sun shone brightly on the grounds below. "I thi--", Rayne began to say but quickly had a towel thrown onto her head. "Well gee, thanks for the warning!", Rayne said jokingly and began wiping the excess eyeliner that had dripped down her cheeks during her "refreshing". Rayne then continued to vigorously rub the towel all over her sopping hair, hoping to get it relatively dry. After spending a good few minutes scrubbing at her hair (And succeeding to get it to look like hay) Rayne sat down next to Scarlett and looked over her shoulder at the list.
"I'm thinking we need to do 'Shatterheart'.", Rayne said taking a sharpie from a nearby table and writing a new list of songs next to the one they had previously had. "I only insist that we have 'Shatterheart' and 'Paper to Scissors.", Rayne said quickly scribbling the names of the songs on the paper and handing the list over. "Why do they guys never take part in the preperation for the set?", Rayne asked resting back in the couch, amazed how a nice cleansing hair-soak, spring, change of clothes and water could do one so much good. She heard the workman come back into the bus, "Well it looks like you're all set. If you have any more problems you know how to reach me!", he said pleasantly. "Thanks!", Rayne replied with a genuine smile.

''You're welcome for the warning,'' Scarlett retorted, smirking, as she ran a pen down the song list from their morning gig. ''I meant catch a cold with your randomly wet hair and the super high A/C now, Ray,'' she smirked, in response to Rayne's question about her earlier statement. Sighing, she leaned back in her chair, and stretched, her tank-top rising over the tips of her shorts and showing a sliver of pale stomach beneath. Rayne joined her on the couch, and glanced at the list over Scarlett's shoulder.
"I only insist that we have 'Shatterheart' and 'Paper to Scissors.''
''Fine, that works,'' Scarlett said, unearthing a scrap piece of paper from underneath a new magazine someone had dropped off Hmmm... She'd need to check that out in a second. ''Right. So we've got, 'Four Letter Lover', 'Running Out of Time', 'Shatterheart', and 'Paper to Scissors'. That's good enough for like... 20 minutes, if we talk in between. We need about 4 or 5 more songs to fill the rest of the 45-minute slot,'' she thought out loud, as she placed the paper and pen back on the table. ''But, since the guys are lazy bums and never help us, we'll force them to pick out those last 4.'' she said, smiling, as she reached for the new magazine that she had spotted earlier. She now noticed it had a sticky note stuck to the front, 'Check out pg. 45., it said, in messy handwriting. Scarlett didn't recognize the handwriting - she figured it must have been one of the techies'.
'Well it looks like you're all set. If you have any more problems you know how to reach me!'
Scarlett flashed a smile at the workman, as she began flipping through the mag, she reached page 45, and widened her eyes. ''OMIGOD. RAY, LOOK!'' she exclaimed, pointing to the page, where a large photo of their entire band was shown. The headline read, 'Heck No! Techno, the hottest band to hit the scene!' Scarlett excitedly skimmed through the article, reading through the glowing review their band's performance on the earlier dates of the R&R Tour had gotten. They were going to get amazing publicity and an amazing turn-out after this article. ''This is amazing!'' she exclaimed, turning to Rayne.

Rayne grinned and nodded approvingly as Scarlett suggested that the boys pick out the rest of the songs. "Serves them bastards right.", Rayne said smirking and pulling out her phone to check the time. She was quickly distracted when Scarlett shreiked and shoved the magazine in her face, but Rayne was astonished to see her own face in the magazine smiling back at her.
"Bu-bu-but....thats...you...with the...", Rayne stuttered hardly believing her eyes. "And tha-tha-thats me....with the...", Rayne continued blinking rapidly a few times as to make sure that she wasn't seeing things. A full picture of the bands set was on the glossy page of the magazine, Scarlett obviously in mid-note, by the way her mouth was open and she was bent over the mic. This picture had been taken about a week ago, judging by the way the set looked. Rayne herself was proud of the way the picture had turned out, her hair barely obscuring her face, obviously concentrated on the music.
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS, SCAR!?", Rayne shreiked jumping up from her seat on the couch "PEOPLE LIKE US! PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE US!!!", Rayne screeched jumping around the small kitchen/living room area of the bus. "I feel faint.", Rayne said happily flopping back down on the couch next to Scarlett. "I'm assuming we're going to have a bigger turn out than usual today?", asked Rayne looking over at Scarlett excitedly. Crowds didn't scare Rayne, they didn't make her anxious, they simply made her excited.

Scarlett had expected the super spazzy freakout that followed her announcement. She watched in amusement Rayne went from confused, shocked, and excited - all in under 30 seconds. ''YES! PEOPLE LIKE US!'' Scarlett exclaimed with a giggle as Rayne proceeded to do her 'victory dance' - which could have easily passed for moshing, or hardcore dancing. What it was, basically, was a lot of jumping, flailing of the limbs, and extreme hair-shaking. This time, however, it was accompanied by loud shrieks of excitement and happiness. Scarlett leaned back into the couch and cracked up. Rayne's dance never ceased to amuse her - ever. Once Rayne's spazz attack ceased, Scarlett took a good look at the photo on the pages.
It was of their show last week - she remembered only because the shirt she was wearing in the picture had later gotten drenched with a large amount of soda - as a prank by one of the guys. Haha. Very funny. She had been sticky and attracting insects for the rest of the afternoon. She had to admit, though, Rayne looked amazing. ''Ray. This is an amazing picture of you,'' she said, pointing to Rayne's image on the far left of the photo. ''You look like a total bad-ass - in a good way,'' she added, smiling, as she decided to read the article out loud.
''Okay. Ready? Listen to this;'' she started, as she began to read out loud from the magazine. ''New-comers on the scene, Heck No! Techno have exploded over the past year. Though the band is only about 8 months old, their melodies and lyrics are meaningful, like that of a band existing much longer than they have. The band consists of two vocalists - Scarlett Richardson, and Rayne Bridge - and both girls bring raw talent to the stage. They switch off for songs, and even though their styles are different, the songs stay catchy nonetheless. Richardson - who also plays guitar - has an amazing range, rivaling some of the legends of the music industry. Although Bridge - who is also the bassist - has a smaller range, her emotion is raw and true with the lyrics she sings. Bridge has admitted to writing the band's lyrics on more than one occassion. ''Well. Scar helps me sometimes, as does everyone else, but most of the stuff is just me,'' she said, sheepishly, in an early September '07 interview,'' Scarlett stopped reading and looked up, a large grin on her face. ''WE. ARE. AMAZING. 'Nough said.'' she squealed, clutching the magazine tightly.

Frank walked through the parking lot, his Vans slip-ons scraping against the tarmac. He saw the ever so familiar Heck No! Techno tour bus in sight and picked up his pace to a jog. His shirt was sweaty; his hair was sticky; and it wasn't the most comfortable of situations. Touring during summer wasn't as great as some people made out. Touring during the winter always depended where you were. Stupid weather. It's always too hot or too cold. He thought angrily. The fans were beginning to gather around the Rave & Rampage to get a spot near the front for Heck No! Techno's afternoon set. It was strange to think that people were pushing infront of each other to see their band.
He hopped up the few steps to the tour bus. There were loud screams coming from inside. Either two mad fans had been able to sneak inside or Scarlett and Rayne, two of his fellow band members, were sure excited about something. "You're all fully clothed, right?" Frank yelled, stepping inside. It was actually cold inside the tour bus, which hopefully meant that the A/C had been fixed. "So, whats so exciting?" He asked, trying to see what Scarl was holding to her chest. His sweaty hair flopped into his eyes and he pulled a face as he brushed it away.
Frank flopped down on the couch. It was nice just to be able to sit down for a few minutes. "I hate the weather." He mumbled. He enjoyed touring, but all the excercise sure was tiring at times. Most people seemed to love summer weather, but they hadn't been on tour during the season. He wanted to change his shirt, but at the same time he just wanted to sit down. [ooc; Boo.]

Rayne quickly stole the magazine out of Scarlett's hands and read the artical to herself. She quickly grinned, "Scar, you look damn SEXY! And I mean that in the most non lesbian way possible." Rayne said happily looking back at the article.
"I should send my parents this article. Them thinking that we wouldn't make it...WELL GUESS WHAT FUCKAAS!? WE DID!", Rayne squealed happiy. "Yeah, we're fully clothed!", Rayne yelled slightly, recognizing Franks voice outside of the bus.
"This is what!", Rayne said exhuberantly shoving the article in his face. "Oh and because you never help with picking out the songs, then you're picking out the other four." she said crossing her arms over her chest.

Ah summertime, a time of a bunch of smelly kids running around on the beach and skimply clad girls slash women walking around on the beach or dumping bags and sliding into the water, or just laying there lazily allowing the sun to warm their trim bodies and get cancerous cells and stuff... Well not Lainey, oh no no, Lainey was doing the complete opposite she had firstly woken up in a sweat and then proceeded to get dressed in skinny fit black jeans a loosely fitted black tank top with silver sequins in the pattern of a skull and cross bones on the front of it, her favorite black and white, long, over the knee stripey socks, black and white converse and yes, her black hoody, the one that said Rawrness on the back in the silver lettering. Honestly she never went anywhere without wearing that hoody. Once dressed she applied a thick, yet seemingly subtle layer of eyeliner, tossed her hair up into a quicky pony tail and jumped out of the tour bus.
Yes ladies and gentlemen Lainey was always jumping in and out of the tour bus, she never exited it or entered it properly and it was a miracle that she hadn't fallen over yet. With a smile, she realised just how hot the sun was and reached back inside the tour bus so that she could grab her red ray bans, then she shut the door and walked along the path while putting them on her face. It was a hot day and Lainey wasn't quite dressed for the weather, actually... to be perfectly honest Lainey was the kind of person that would wear wintery clothes in the summer and summery clothes in the winter, it was just like saying that black was white and up was down with her, she never listened and maybe that was what was slightly annoying with her. With a small smile she continued to walk, letting her feet do the walking rather than her eyes.
Pretty soon she arrived somewhere and someone was shouting, she looked up and ran into the front of the tour bus, with a small squeak she landed on her butt on the floor her glasses fell off of her head and clattered on the ground beside her. Oh my god, I hope I didn't dent the bus. she thought lamely, struggling to her feet and brushing herself down. The connection she had made with the tour bus had been hard and loud, she wondered if anyone had heard it, or seen it.
How embarressing.

Scarlett watched with amusement as Frankie entered the tour bus. He was just as pissed about the weather as she was, and it showed. Both his tee-shirt and hair were plastered to his face in a thick layer of sweat. ''Hiya, Frankie, we're decent, don't you worry.'' Scarlett said, smirking, as he sat down on the couch next to her, scowling. ''I hate the weather,'' he mumbled. Scarlett stuck her tongue out at him. ''Poor Frankie dearest. He melts in temperatures any higher than 60 degrees Fahrenheit,'' she said, teasingly, as he asked her what she had been clutching to her chest. ''Oh! It's amazing, we're -'' but she was interrupted by Rayne grabbing the magazine from her and shoving it into Frank's face. Scarlett laughed at his slightly scared expression, just as a loud crash reverberated through the bus. Something - or someone - had just run into their bus it seemed.
''What was that?!'' Scarlett exclaimed, as she rose out of her seat to run to the door of the bus. She threw it open, and saw a slightly dazed girl lying on the ground. ''I... Er. Are you okay?'' Scarlett asked, questioningly, as she offered the girl a hand up off the ground. When she was back on her feet, the girl in question turned around, brushing the dust off her knee-high socks, and that's when Scarlett noticed the logo adorning the back of her hoodie. ''Rawrness... OH! Are you in one of the opening bands? I think I remember Rawrness being one of the ones listed on the roster...'' she mused out loud, shielding her eyes from the sun with her hand, as she had left her sunglasses back in the bus.

Apparently someone had saw her and Lainey felt her face redden ever so slightly as she was brushing down her stripey socks and examining them for any holes, she just hated it when there were holes in her socks and her best ones too! With a smile she saw that there was none and turned back around just as the girl in front of her was talking. "Oh... yes.." she replied just a little flustered as she tried nervously to stop shaking from the contact with the bus. "Was not look where I was going." she said lightly. "Yes, Rawrness, we are one of the opening acts." Lainey was quite flustered and repeating everything that the girl was saying. She looked at the bus and smiled. "Heck no! Techno I see, you are a great band." She took on step towards the girl and held out her hand so that she could take it and shake it.
She looked at the bus again and used her other hand to go upto her head and discover that her ray bans were not on her face anymore, with a hidden, inward sigh she quickly bent down to retrieve them and put them back on her face. She was struck for words, normally she had alot to say but today the words seemed to be stuck i her throat and she had no idea why that was. Lainey smiled at the girl once more and placed her hand, the one that wasn't being held out in the air, in the pocket of her skirt.

Frank raised an eyebrow. "Melt? Who do you think I am, the wicked - huh?" His sentence was cut off by Rayne shoving a magazine in his face. He pulled it away so he could see it clearly. He read it quickly and looked at the picture of the band. "So that's what you were screaming about. You are both such girls." He laughed, joking. There was a loud bang coming from the front of the bus. "It sounded like something ran into the bus." He said, confused. "But if it's the A/C packing in again then we seriously need to do something about it." He stood up and hopped out of the bus after Scarl. He felt the sun on his arms and legs and remembered that they still had to perform in the weather.
He walked around to the front where the noise had come from, hearing Scarlett's always familiar voice. "Yeah, I looked before I came back to the bus to check I had the right time for our afternoon set." He said, putting his hands in the pockets of his shorts. Frank stood with his back to the sun, as his sunglasses had broken a few days before. He looked at the girl that had now managed to get back on her feet, noticing her hoodie. It struck him as odd wearing a hoodie in such warm weather - but everybody was different. He blew his hair out of his face, vowing that as soon as he got inside he would change out of his sweaty shirt. [ooc;; aw man you posted whilst I was!]
